| Yeah that was a bit ridiculous. I hate how the news is covering this with just linking to the ocean lyrics. Like if you're going to write an article on this, at least dig into her previous lyrics. |

| Well, the lyrics from The Ocean definitely are at the top of the list for obvious reasons. I doubt many of the people writing anything up on this topic know much about AM, let alone their earlier work. |

You know, what you wrote could easily have been interpreted either way. The only reason I assumed you meant it the way you did and not as a sexist comment is because we are on this board and not on absolutepunk.net or something. Give them a break, your wording was unclear to say the least. |

| To be fair, as someone mentioned we as fanboys are probably going to interoperate like 80% more lyrics than what there probably is actually. Ocean is clear, Disco is clear, Total Clarity is clear, and according to the RS writer Violence too. Other than that, the rest is up in the air for us. |

I registered just to respond to WWD4D's post. Implying that women can't rock out and be a goddess of punk music is both wrong (seriously, women have kicked ass in this genre, have you lived under a rock?) and just uncool to even say.
Punk goddesses may not exist in your little word, but have some respect.
I'm very happy that there's been so much support from 98% of the people on this board. You don't have to understand it, but you can get the hell out if you won't respect it. Tom has always been amazing and Laura, now that she can be comfortable with herself, will kick ass even more! Much love to her and to you all! |

| I didn't know there was a "point" to punk... to me its about expressing yourself however you see fit, both musically and in life... I don't so much care how it is defined |

| Explain all you want, doesn't mean anyone wants to read it.
Whatever punk rock is to you, it isn't to everyone else. You should know that by now, you're an adult/punk goddess. Obviously. |

Word. If I wanted to define everything I'd go back to school or hang out at the record store all day. |

Suffocation is another confirmed one, and obviously TGDB. I also don't see how songs like Eden Quest, The Mover and 35% aren't specifically related to the transgender thing. |

| The fun thing about music is that it can still be interpreted in many ways, and it can also be written about multiple things at once |
